Differences between Standard Velocity Transducers and High-velocity Transducers:

  • Standard velocity transducers are equipped with 0.8 mm epoxy guide springs
  • Optionally standard transducers can be equipped with 1.0 mm guide springs
  • High Velocity Transducers are equipped with 1.5 mm multilayer guide springs
Features of the WissEl High Velocity Drive Units: 3/12 NIM module
  • Four front panel 10- turn potentiometers for adjusting the feedback loop
  • Rear panel fan cools the power stage of the unit
  • Rear panel connectors for optional external power supply





Maximum Velocities of Various Velocity Transducers:
  • Standard drive systems with 0.8 mm guide springs: approx. 200... 300 mm/s
  • Velocity transducers with 1.0 mm guide springs: approx. 300 ...450 mm/s
  • High Velocity Drive Systems: > 1000 mm/s

 

 

Image The rigidness of the guides spring dictates - as well as the moving mass - the resonance frequency of the velocity transducer. For reaching high velocities, the mechanical amplitude has to be small and this is reached by stiff springs.The picture shows the upper guide spring of a MVT-1000 velocity transducer.
